In Megan’s home, that gift arrived in a small but unforgettable way. Her son did not have access to the program until he was almost five, so he only received two books. But both came with a heartfelt note from Dolly, and that made them feel extra special. The final book was Look Out Kindergarten, Here I Come! by Nancy Carlson. Getting those books in the mail and reading them together was honestly such a treat for Megan and her son.

Following Dolly Parton’s passing, her family asked that donations be made to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in lieu of flowers, which feels like such a fitting reflection of her lifelong commitment to putting books in children’s hands.
